According to CBS, the Trump Administration is thinking about cutting Narcan funding due to slashes in Department of Health funding. They have proposed getting rid of $56 million in Narcan funding for emergency departments. This $56 million grant is used to train emergency personnel how to administer Narcan. This grant is given out by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), which would also be dissolved if this grant continues through. The loss of this grant could exacerbate the opioid crisis, according to Hanna Sharif-Kazemi, the federal policy manager for the Drug Policy Alliance. Iโve attached further reading below.
What do you think?

Last week, I had the honor to present at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church & School about Spray 2 Save and the opioid epidemic. I was able to pass out Narcan afterwards, which was great, and had some really interesting discussions after my presentation. Everyone who came was passionate and interested, which I so appreciate. Thank you to St. Mark’s for having me!

On February 8, I had the honor of participating in the annual Civic Fair for the Jupiter Jubilee. The fair ran from 11 AM- 4 PM and I got the chance to talk to over 150 people about how to use Narcan and what it is. Unfortunately, due to town regulations, I was unable to pass out Narcan at the site, but I did get a sign up sheet where I could potentially reach out to those who were interested in free Narcan. Pics attatched below- it was a great way to start off Spray 2 Save’s events for 2025!

I am happy to announce one confirmed event for Spray 2 Save, which is at the Jupiter Civic Fair on February 8, 2025. I am super excited to pass out Narcan to lots of Jupiter residents and it should be a packed event which means lots of Narcan to distribute! More details to come.
Additionally, my event with St. Mark’s is gaining headway- I have a meeting with Father Cook coming up on the 3rd where we can discuss this project. As always, more information to come!

Hey all! I have a lot to update so far about how my nonprofit is going and what I’m planning on doing in the future. About a month ago, I decided that a path I wanted to take to maximize distribution of Narcan would be through the churches, specifically the Episcopal Churches of South Florida. I reached out to around 20 churches in my area to see if they would be up to do a presentation. Not many of them responded, so I decided to talk to the Bishops office to see if there was any way to push my presentation out. A week from today, last Wednesday, I had a call with the Recovery Ministries of SE Florida from the Bishops office. We had a great conversation about my nonprofit and about Narcan and how to push my presentation out. Everyone was so nice and welcoming on the Zoom call. I can’t wait to see where this goes!

On Sunday, I gave a presentation on the drug overdose epidemic and how Narcan can help to a group at my church. I was really happy to be able to share my knowledge about Narcan and we were able to give away 43 boxes of Narcan which will go on to save lives. I’ll link the presentation below for those of you who want to learn more!

I am so excited for my nonprofit’s first event, which is going to be a forum at my church. This event will include a presentation about Narcan and potential distribution of it. I’ve been wanting to get out into the community and actually talk to people about Narcan and how it can save lives. I plan to keep doing more events all throughout this year and really make an impact on the community!

48 cartons of Narcan have been delivered to my house! This is a small amount of Narcan- in fact, it’s the minimum amount you can order from the state through the program I am enrolled in. I plan to keep ordering Narcan every month and to start distributing it soon. I posted something on Instagram so go check that out!

I have just had the honor of becoming a recipient of free Narcan from the state of Florida! This is so exciting and I am beyond thrilled to start getting in shipments of Narcan and to begin distributing it!
This is an incredible opportunity which I cannot wait to take advantage of. More details to come ๐

Last week, my family and I were in Philadelphia on spring break, and we decided to take a tour of Penn. Penn is prestigious and well-known for its high level of academics, and it has a beautiful campus. While we were walking around before our tour, I spotted a booth along the side of the main road running through campus. There was a group of students handing out Narcan. Everyone who stopped by was handed a free container of Narcan. When I approached the booth, a student spoke to a small group of us, detailing the basics on what Narcan is and how to use it. I loved seeing Narcan being passed out elsewhere, and especially at such a cool place like U Penn!
