Hey all! I posted something new on my Instagram, detailing the steps on how to use Narcan. Narcan is very simple to use, but under pressure, it’s definitely easy to get confused or draw a blank on how to use it. The goal of my nonprofit is to make Narcan known to everyone, so that when the situation arises, people in the community can save lives. I hope the simple steps can clear up confusion and teach you something new! I’ll link the post down below π

Ever since I started high school, I’ve thought about the impact of drugs and vapes, both of which I’ve seen at school. I remember thinking my freshman year of high school, “Why would someone throw their life away and start using drugs, or start vaping?” The truth is, it could be many reasons. Peer pressure, needing an escape, poor mental health, bad home life, etc. Then, my sophomore year of high school, which I’m currently in, we did a unit on drugs and the brain in my AP Psych class. This was so interesting to me, and the effect that drugs have on the brain was both startling and horrifying. I decided to do something about it, and when I first learned about Narcan, it felt like the perfect solution to every problem revolving around overdoses and death rates related to drugs. As I learned more about it, I realized it’s not perfect by any means, but it can make a real difference in schools, in communities, and in families. Education and distribution are key to saving lives. I didn’t learn about Narcan until someone taught me about it. And I think that Narcan can save many lives if people are aware of it, and how to use it.
